§  Akhenaten aka Amenhotep iv

The second to last Pharaoh of the 18th dynasty, father of Tut. He is the one and only pharaoh who was absolutely a monotheist.

A standard procedure in a multi-cultural empire, most of the population will not have the same religion. Most Royal families simply accept this fact, they have their private religion, and they also celebrate the major rituals of their subjects. The largest religions have the Royal family and sometimes head of the family perform the ritual with the clergy.

In the case of Akhenaten he chose to force everyone under his leadership to adopt and convert to his faith, outlawing all other faiths. Some could say in an attempt to surcimvet the power the Hyksos in their capital city were attempting to gather. Informality for Akhenaten his forcing his religious beliefs on his subjects resulted in huge support turning away from him and toward the rather nasty Hyksos at Avaris.

Similar behavior as, the NAZI were welcomed as conquering heroes by some on the border with Russia. The Russians in Scandinavia and the surrounding areas, treated the Slovakians so badly that the NAZI were considered a good replacement. Then when the brutality of the NAZI regime became evident, they wanted to really bad behavior of the Russians back.

Akhenaten did something with his children which is both unheard of in a lot of cultures as well as a repeat pattern which occurred in Egypt and Troy. Under immediate threat, by legend he sent his children out to create their own kingdoms. Sending them out to different areas in order to secure his family line would continue. Despite the fact that the 18th dynasty was coming to an end.

What he did, where he sent his children, what those children did, the pattern he repeated based on the Hyksos’s first invasion of Egypt circa 2100 bce. Will be covered in the book and series. The Persian invasions of the Aegean are in part a direct result of the Akhenaten sending his children out to create new kingdoms. The Battle of Marathon and the 300 are directly connected to these actions.
