Brigadoon

One of the key features of the legend of Brigadoon is the city moved on a regular schedule. Keeping in mind that not only did it appear, stay for a set amount of time, the inhabitance knew strange an unusual stuff/mythical stuff(sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic), and on scheduled times the city would be someplace else.

Science has provided evidence that the UK is one of the last areas for the Glaciers of the last ice age to retreat from; apart from Scandinavia.

The feasibly that a tabernacle/tent city could exist on glacier ice.

One of the key features needed to add to the concept is just as the evidence of the ice station on Antarctica indicates, a moving around of the tent facilities is an absolute requirement.

The ice moves, the wind often is over 100 mph, snow drifts, animal migrations, parts of the glacier retreat other portions expand, etc massive amounts of motion.

A dozen categories of motion almost force a civilization in tents on a moving glacier to have to develop ways in which the move the tent city itself.

Despite preconceived notions weather patterns, especially on a glacier can be not only tracked, but worked within.

The patterns point to any tents on a glacier would have to move according to the set patterns.

All point to the real possibility that a tent city could have existed in the upper portions of the UK and it is that ten city complex which created the legend of Brigadoon.

After descending, the motions would not have to change all that much. Take off the snow/ice skids an add wheels and the same motion patterns on the ice can be done off the ice.

Why would a culture choose to keep their city on a motion pattern when they can just as easily create foundations and stay in an area permanently.
