week 8 dq 2 pyramids

A note from my personal favorite subject, the Pyramids. Although that was not what the ancient Egyptians called them, Pyramid is Greek, so is the word Heliopolis. Heliopolis used to be called IWNW pre 3500 bce. That city was been the capital and center of joy and happiness in two separate locations for the last 6000 years. Several dozen cultures used Heliopolis as their capital. It is still a capital of a culture, a religion, and a nation where it sits now. Heliopolis has had at least 3 major name changes. IWNW, Heliopolis, and has been called Vatican for the last 1990 years. A longer and more complex historical story is difficult to find.

Pyramid is a type of Greek conical shaped bread, with flat slides. To the Greeks and Romans, the Pyramids have been defined as the graves of the Pharaohs of the Old Kingdom. Although, little to nothing could be farther from the truth. Not a single molecule of evidence has been found in any of the 120 pyramids which points to the building being used as a grave during the time associated. 2600-2100 bce. The buildings were used as graves more than 1000 years later.  One group of cultures seek joy and happiness to label the Pyramids as Graves, another view the same word vastly different.
