week 1 dq April

I absolutely love your questions.

Now for me to figure out how to answer your questions in less than 10ks of words.

At last count I have outlines for about 60 different dissertations. Well more like 50, but I have added a few ideas in the about 8 months since I wrote that document. Not having updated it since.

However to isolate one of your (most excellent) questions (from my generation appropriate hand motions included. Google 80s “most excellent” line.) a researcher must turn away from packages which will ont work. Did you know for example that previous to about 1500s? I am guessing at a more than decade old memory that the = sign was not part of mathematics. the x=’s was simply a new line of the equation example in the movie “Hidden Figures” where Catherine would circle the answer. This is a how to work the numbers when you do not use an x=.

Different packages apply to different types of research. Most of my research is centered on North Western European history and for the last 9 years ancient Egyptian history. I had an interest in the Elder Futhark, which ironically lead to ancient Egypt. I can prove the Elder Futhark and the Egyptian Pyramids are connected in about 5 separate ways. However exactly the same as previous generations of scholars, once you start to perform deep dives into some subjects. You will find people who cannot process in any other package than said they are comfortable with.

As a child I spent a huge amount of time learning about the film making industry. To answer your question about “formatting”. The script writers for “Back to the Future” movies award winning Bob Zemeckis. He created about 10 different versions of the script over about 8 years. Several of the is early drafts the study had them in their possession, and other writers took those early drafts and created other forms of entertainment from his early drafts.

The tv show “Quantum Leap” came directly from draft one or two. Same holds true for James Cameron’s Alien script. An early version of that script was changed and altered by a different screen writer into the “Species” series. Academics is not about the information; academics is about finding what package works to tell the story. As scholars our job is to entertain. The more we entertain, the more success we will have. No matter how solid the ideas are, the core of whatever we write has to be entertaining. Even if that entertainment is, to present an idea which someone else can spin off our ideas into their own research grants. They are entertained by their ability to further their career based on someone elses work. Not nice to say, but as a point of fact it is reality.

To answer another question. One of my ideas is to have scholars start to work on creating a database of information. Each DQ itself should go into a sequencial database. Where ideas expand on each other. Where scholars with similar ideas can interact with each other and expand said ideas. This is the cyber age, why are 1000 year old guild rule still being strictly enforced in academics.

I can think of no less than 5 provide a deeper explanation for the guild paragraph, but that would make this very long. An explanation of what the guild structure itself is, how western culture went from the guild structure of scholastics to modern cyber academics, to why the Vatican allowed academics to come back at all circa 900 ce, why the Vatican created the Dark Ages in the first place, why the same culture which in part founded our schema understanding of what the Vatican itself is (the land is “The Vatican” the organizational structure is not called that, nor are the buildings. Each building has its own name, those buildings sit on the Vatican. However, the Vatican was called that long before Romulus and Remus’s grandparents were born. The Temple of Janus which was located about where the major Dome of St Peters is now, that temple and location are a sequence of subjects difficult at best to condense into less than 1000s of words.) the direct descendant of the Dorian Culture which created a 700 year dark age between 1300-800 bce ( They are also the ones responsible for forcing huge changes to the culture and naming of things of Egypt. Why the city of Heliopolis itself is a Greek word and not Hieroglyphic. The Greeks came through and renamed as much of Egypt as they could.), the Dorian culture itself is a direct (and by direct I mean direct child culture of) descendant culture from the Hyksos (the Hyksos culture is who invaded Egypt and ended Pyramid construction), the Hyksos culture is also responsible for taking a solidly good Jewish Ceremony and turning it into something else that ceremony being Memento Mori and its applications with Academics (hidden inside what package to present information to the world of scholastics. Why did the Hyksos and their descendant culture create 3 separate Dark Ages immediately following Pyramid Construction, and the 2 which followed had direct Pyramid subjects as a direct x subject comes up and becomes a huge cultural thing and the Hyksos respond by creating another dark age. A 3 times repeat pattern of Serial Killing behavior. Western Culture is just starting to pull itself out of a back to back 800-year-old dark age sequence. The details of which are intensely layered and complicated) which created the 2100-1530 eastern Mediterranean Dark Age, etc.

The subjects and details to actually answer a question like that, 1000 words is a summation. If you look at academics, ideas are constantly changing and altering to fit the demands of rulers, groups, and cultures. Obviously, the descendant culture from the Hyksos have the same exact behavior patterns from 2600 bce to present. All the while they as a culture are completely convinced they are the good people, they are at open and hostile war with the enemies of their concept of the divine. That open hostility can be found directly within the confines of both specific scholars and different scholastic groups. If they found an idea they do not like, they will do their ultimate best to “dark Age” that idea. Destroy the idea, destroy the scholar who thought it up, and destroy any hope the culture itself has any ability to see said information. Have a broad enough knowledge of the history and behavior patterns that seem like people are just being difficult are actually part of a much larger and more intense predictable behavior pattern. It is up to us as scholars to decide if we want to be part of a group, be part of a specific schema, or be scholars who work on what ever idea works and package the idea in whatever format different cultures need.
