week 2 dq response to teacher

Regarding research methodologies, one of the major issues I have with this field I am venturing into is the following.

Right now as in previous waves, there is another wave of reliance and or dependence to force Skinners ideas to be applied. “hoping this time” they will work. Since after all every new generation of scholars have to be reconvinced metaphorical treating the common cold with chemotherapy is wrong and causes much much more damage than it has any real benefit.

I have personal interaction with a couple people who are underdoing mental health treatment. One I semi agree with the course of treatment, the other I could not disapprove more. The second is part of the next “skinner movement” which relays upon the same basic structure to use in effect talk therapy and chemical in effect torture to alter the nature of a person in order to have short term goals. Always with the short-term group think model “see it works”.

Long term the damage is unrepairable. The problem is psychological trauma does not bleed; it does not easily show symptoms. The damage is entirely internal.

My problem is the reliance upon the “group think model”, in quantitative and qualitative research. Exampe right now in American psychologically speaking there are at least 30 million Americans 100% convinced x is y, and no less than 50 million Americans completely existing in reality and know that x  is actually x.

Studies performed on the first group will slant studies to a x is y slant, which will by default disqualify almost any psychological study they are part of. Since that group of people operate from either individually, they are suffering form some type of psychosis, or the few who are suffering from some type of paranoid delusional psychosis have group think convinced the rest of the group that x is really y. The other group eg 50 million who do live and exist in reality, any studies they are connected with can and do reflect reality. But according to both the rules of qualitative and quantitative 100,000 members of both chosen equally, all studies in association will be slanted with x = y answers invalidating the entire study because of the 200k people in the study 100k do not see the world from reality.

This can and does slant all associated studies. This by most of the field of psychology is all but entirely ignored. Those variables need to be addressed and adjusted for.
