I would like to remind my readers that this is an under construction site. I am adding material on a constant basis each page, each branch sometimes goes months with out, and sometimes each branch gets new and updated information on a daily basis. Julius Caesar The other event which must be talked about because this
event has such a huge affect on the way Julius Caesar, started his military campaign which in general is fine and cool. But I must tell you that even thought most of this society views Caesar as one of the greatest, he in fact by body count and numbers is worse then Hitler. After everything was said and done. The numbers are as follows. 1/3 the population of 1/3 the population taken away as slaves 1/3 left to be under the control of the roman empire. Not citizens but required to pay heavy taxes. He changed a very good working system of a republic into a dictatorship, Created the new position of king, well revamped the old king system to a new and frightening level. There are some really cool things he did, but the good must be measured against the bad. He did more damage to the ancient piecefull symbolic European cultures then at any time since the Greeks. And the Thera volcano. |
