week 3 last post

This study was to examine the schema of what each individual is attempting to achieve through their journey from after graduating with their bachelors to their PhD.

The study was focused on how each student was functioning on their individual path, with some aspects of “the path not taken”, from the famous poem.

The research provided some interesting insights into what the journey entails and of course some aspects of the struggles of the path. The path to being a scholar is not an easy one, the path can easily be compared to “fight club”, the Brad Pitt Edward Norton Movie of several years ago. That movie describes what it is like presenting ideas in a scientific format. Plan on being torn to shreds in the endeavor. Why because in science everything has to go through the meat grinder in order to stand up to scientific rigor. Best to learn how to fight scientifically and using the method now, then wait till later. The fighting is the key to the whole process, the ideas are nothing unless the sch0lar knows how to fight academically. With facts, logic, reason references, evidence, peer reviewed information, etc.

The article did touch a bit on this, but did not cover it that well. The article did not lend itself well to being paraphrased, it is much easier to put the point of the article across using different and much better explanations. Changed the premise of the ideas a bit, but a slightly better description of the article. But I am not a normal scholar so process data different than others.

Paraphrasing is designed to sum up the point of an article or a piece of academics, so that the individual can convey what the piece was talking about but from a new authors perspective. For me I write different, so my paraphrasing is by default different.
