week 5 dq 2 post Nancy Lyle

talk about offended. " He is considered the father of psychology. " sorry but that is grossly incorrect. Your next sentence is correct, but that one is offensive. Making your point is fine and ok, but that sentence offended me in a solid and scholastic way. Wundt is who wrote the book, purchased by James, Lightner, Calkin, etc Freud was not part of it for decades after.  I apologize for offending and jumping in, but this is a science class. Facts do matter.

Wundt obtained his notes by translating from the Classics, the story is on the extreme side of complex. His events were in the 1860s, The others in the following 15-25 years, then Freud and Skinner. Freud, Skinner, Jung, etc. were part of the fourth and fifth waves of the field. Freud was a psychiatrist not a psychologist, another huge difference. Your post to her has a rather sizable ability to upset the student even more. If I was in your class I would not react well at all. If you sent that note to me, remember I have bounced through 4 grad schools, I have direct first hand experience in this. I would react very badly and cause a private issue. Backing incorrect statements up with grade threats is one way to handle a situation, but it will likely end up very badly.
