you appear to be focusing on the Ds of the issue, and not the rest of it.

I am almost the definition of a unique student. on last nights “Young Sheldon” the preview of next week had Sheldon entering the class of a new teacher. That new teacher is completely convinced that Sheldon cannot keep up with his extremely advanced mathematical work.

“Sheldon this is an extremely advanced math class”

Sheldon “I know, if you need any help, I will be right there in the front row”.

I have at various times by people who have absolutely no connection to each other at all, have nicknamed me Sheldon.

For week 10 assignment in this class I got excited and write an outline for an entire bachelors degree. All of the classes needed from just after English 101 to the capstone, with notes for about 7 GRUs. This class is a unique opportunity for your and others to explore what you would do with a student like me. Which you might find one other in yoru enter professional academic career. Teachers have the choice of being either a helpful support or an annoyance to get around. Ds does not work with us. In fact thanks to the structure of the scientific method, students like us become experts in scientific flight club. We are spec ops level talented at finding the weaknesses in academic discussions and exploring them till the idea is proven wrong. That is what we do, we rarely have any care or even awareness of the emotions and or feelings involve with scientific fight club. To find evidence, facts, truths, etc. is the point. Emotions have nothing at all to do with the pursuit of the scientific method. Hurt feelings for the most part have little to do with the applications of science. Hurt feelings are the preview of other degrees and classes.

However being a teacher, or heading into the teaching profession. Focusing on the pleasures of the Ds, situation all it will do is annoy and upset those skilled in scientific fight club.

We are great at the scientific method but by default have either very little to … EQ, we usually have no ideas we have hurt humans feelings. Most of the time we do not care we hurt humans feelings. How this applies to yoru future teaching career, being scientifically wrong is extremely annoying. The harsher/Ds you are in your class the more you will annoy your students and they will either have little respect for you and dread yoru class, or they will come over the top and hammer you hard on when you are wrong. Forcing a bad outcome, or forcing them to drop your class.

The problem is the issue is not with them, the actions are not from the student. The equations start with your reactions, not the students. It is not Sd, it is Ds. Most students will simply comply and follow the orders, no matter if the lessons taught are lemming oriented. For those students you can teach them Dr Boie’s work and they will not spend one second questioning our D authority. However me, I will either leave the class, or argue the scientific points down the line. I have no interest in wasting my time and money on a fiction class pretending to be a science class. A fiction is a fiction, hence the point of saying “tear it apart using the scientific method”. If the teacher argues, it is either fight club/basic scientific criticisms and or it is time to leave the class.

You avhe an opportunity to learn from me about the outliers of a student body. We do not come along that often but when we do come along, it is the metal of the teachers being tested not the students. The student is doing their learning job, it is the teachers job to help the student learn. Not to force the student to obey or learn fiction because the admin or the teacher want to teach fictions as facts.
