week 3 dq Madyson Wier

There are different types of encouragement. I was not clear enough; I was referring to the inappropriate form of encouragement. To support the students is a great thing, but blanket encouragement one size fits all is usually not a solid plan.

For some encouragement is to be rewarded in the crowd. For others they need individual attention. It is the job of the teacher to find out what each student needs to learn in the best way possible and provide the tools they can employ.

Providing the tools is entirely different than using the tools for them.

Then of course there is the other issue, which is for the student and teacher to develop a codependency. Which if it is worked correctly is great, but when done wrong it is actually an abusive situation. Where the teacher begins to develop a dependence on the student or students in question, a superior versus inferior issue develops. Where the focus pulls away from knowledge and education and towards the D S relationship. The D S is where things are not necessarily illegal, but they are power dynamic wise clearly immoral. Few of those types of relationships between the mentor mentee are healthy.
