week 8 dq 1 response to teacher

Oops I apologize, I sent reply dq 2 to dq 1.

It occurs to me that the study of the mind e.g. cognition and neuro is not all that different than the study of teaching. The ways, framework, gears, etic of how the brain works and the subject of how to teach is not all that different. It is more similar than it is different.

I have less than zero interest in obtaining a license to practice the field of Psychology. I could not be less interested. Well that is not true, take on 2 clients a day 2 times a week, charge some insane amount which leaves the rest of the entire week to work on my research having the 4 people pay for the rest of the work. But that would require charging several 1000 dollars an hour. Which would be fine with me, but it would also be entirely unrealistic. If I could have the funding, without the clients, I would with little to less than zero problem. Hence the I do not want a license to counsel. Although at this point I could probably pass the license test semi easily.

For my future students, I would want to work with them on my and their research. Not to combine our efforts but to support each other. Although that power dynamic makes things more than a little difficult. That is a subject which would be very difficult to deal with. How to properly interact with a student but not cross the inappropriate boundaries. What are proper boundaries. In the old days, students and teachers were not really allowed to interact outside of extremely formalized settings. In public teachers were almost a non-existent concept. Seeing a teacher in the market, and or at a social event the protocols always confused me.
