Spelling

Since the Futhark dates back to before Aramaic was invented. That means this language and the cultures associated had millennia in order to alter it to their specific specifications.

Consequently; spelling, grammar, sentence structure, character shape, etc. all changed over time.

Since these cultures were and still are under almost constant attack from enemies who hate this type of knowledge and wisdom. No centralization has existed regarding keeping the rules of this language within specific parameters. Most cultures which have a language have specific scholarly areas who are tasked with the soul operation of keeping the rules and regulations of their language within acceptable bounds.

English, French, German, etc. are all languages which have a very strict board of review. That board is tasked with keeping the spelling, grammar, sentence structure, new words, old words, etc. straight and orderly.

The changes each generation makes to the language must be regulated or no one but small pockets of people in isolated areas will be able to understand each other after a few generations.

This language suffered the same fate as all languages which are subject to deregulation.

Consequently instead of only being a few generations of deviations from the standard; Futhark suffered from thousands of years of deregulations. Adding insult to injury the language in several different countries over several hundred years was outlawed and banned by sequences of conquest cultures bent on erasing anything which questioned their strength.

So each of the below cultures deviated the Futhark in their own unique ways

German (a dozen deviations; high German, low German, old German, east, west, etc.)

Austrian

Nordic

Old English version of Futhark

Danish

Anglo

Saxon

Anglo Saxon

Younger Futhark (which has its roots in the ancient calendar, using only the15/16 days of the Futhark month)

Etc.

More than 50 different languages were translated from Futhark into Latin or some other base by a conqueror. Or a series of different conquerors.

Of course the other important portion of the Futhark is how similar to the earliest languages it is.
