This is all to ensure that when you do start to pull your own personal numbers/letters to understand what time has to say about you personally. That all the infinite amount of numbers letters are in proper sequence in order to create proper word/sentence/paragraph/chapter/etc form.

All pre-500 bce western languages specifically previous to the Arabic numbers, all of those western languages the characters were both numbers and letters depending on how they were used.
